Our most popular event is the weekend camp, first held in 2019, which inspired the founding of our association. Through role-playing and simulations, we give young people the chance to evaluate public affairs. As an independent organization, we highly value debate culture, freedom of expression, and exploring diverse perspectives.
EVENTS:
With our constantly expanding repertoire, we try to ensure that everyone can find the right format for them. Currently, you can find us in the following eight events:
POLIP Community Camp
Social Impact Award
The Social Impact Award is a social enterprise development program for youth aged 14–30, supporting innovative ideas that create a positive social or environmental impact. Participants receive training and mentoring, while the best projects win financial backing and professional support to launch their very own businesses.
POLIP Summer University
At our annual summer university, participants discuss current public issues with guest speakers and develop their skills through interactive workshops on topics like diplomacy, sustainability, or media and communication. Alongside the professional programs, fun and informal evening social activities always play a major role like at all our events.
Non-Accredited Training
Our semester-based professional training programs provide deep dives into topics like local governance, the role of media, and sustainability. We deliver not only theoretical but also practical knowledge: thematic, interactive site visits are a core part of the curriculum with hands-on learning from public and industry experts and guest teachers.
POLIP Night
POLIP Nights are single-evening events where we typically host public discussions with guest speakers, transitioning into a relaxed, informal social gathering at a venue in Budapest. Over the years, we have hosted a number prominent public figures, multi-party youth debates, and lighthearted pub quizzes as well.
Samizdat
We have always placed a strong emphasis on promoting civilized discourse and developing a culture of debate. With this in mind, we created Samizdat, our own recurring debate event. Its goal is to train young people to confidently articulate their opinions and argue effectively on public issues without getting carried away by emotions.
POLIP Culture
At our POLIP Culture events, we explore contemporary cultural topics, works and artists that shape our everyday lives. Our aim is to bring issues into the community space that are not strictly political but still connected to our community. As an example, past events include private film screenings followed by expert panel discussions.
Internship Program
Every semester, we offer young people the opportunity to join us and help our cause through our internship program. You can apply for positions in event management, social media and marketing, or professional political research. We accept around 10 interns per semester, giving them hands-on experience in a dynamic NGO environment.
